Leading companies in the cargo, logistics and supply chain sectors took home 49 different awards at the 2021 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards at the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel in Hong Kong on October 21, 2021.
The awards, hosted and organized annually by Asia Cargo News, recognize leading service providers including air and shipping lines; airports and seaports; and logistics, 3PLs and other associated industry professionals.
This year we introduced two new awards to represent changes and growth within the industry: Best Logistics Service Provider – E-Commerce, and Best Logistics Service Provider – Warehousing, recognizing leaders in these rapidly evolving and expanding areas.
The nomination and voting process allowed the more than 15,000 readers of Asia Cargo News and e-news subscribers to first determine the leading companies in the market, and then determine the winners, making the results the opinion of service users rather than a panel of judges.
The nomination criteria were laid down by Asia Cargo News and, following a technical evaluation, the top eight firms in each category appeared on the final ballot. The top four firms in each category made up the final shortlist, with the winners collecting their awards from guest presenters from some of the biggest players in the Asian freight and logistics industry.
“We all continue to face challenges brought about by the global pandemic, but the industry has, nonetheless, spoken up, and Asia Cargo News is delighted to be able to announce the winners of the 2021 AFLAS Awards,” said Asia Cargo News publisher Darren Barton.
“Despite the ongoing pandemic, the AFLAS Awards are still where stakeholders in the cargo and logistics sector come together to celebrate the very best in our industry. I would like to offer my congratulations to all the finalists and winners. Only the very best in each category are represented here, so making it this far is quite an achievement in itself.”
“The past year has obviously been challenging for all of us,” said Asia Cargo News managing editor Gregory Glass. “We are excited to be able to continue to honour the best in the industry, despite the impacts of Covid-19.”
