Air Canada Cargo continues to expand its newly-launched freighter service with additional new flights to its network.

This week, the carrier announced that on January 2, its freighters began service to Miami, Quito, and Lima. Starting January 15 service will also begin to San Juan, Mexico City, and Guadalajara.

Air Canada Cargo said this new schedule replaces the previous routing between Frankfurt, Toronto, and Vancouver.

The carrier took delivery of its B-767 freighter in December, initially operating to Vancouver to boost recovery efforts after major floods hit British Columbia.

The carrier plans to convert eight of its B-767 aircraft into freighters with the second plane set to be delivered in the first half of 2022.

"As our new freighters get added to the fleet and based on demand, new regions and cities will be added," Air Canada Cargo said in a statement.
