CMA CGM is launching an intermodal service solution in Indonesia in February — a move that is expected to hasten the transport of goods in the country.
"In complement to the current feeder services, CMA CGM is proud to announce that we are the sole carrier offering Rail Transport Solutions in Indonesia," the liner said in its brief announcement.
CMA CGM said effective February 2023, the new rail product will cut transit times, among others.
"Rail service solutions for export cargo from Semarang and Surabaya to worldwide destinations through Jakarta gateway with an intermodal transit time of 1 day," it said.
CMA CGM also noted that the coverage of Jababeka and Cikarang dry ports in less than 1 day for the cargo export and import.
