Maersk said in its latest customer advisory that operations at Ningbo Port continues to be "normal" amid Covid restrictions implemented at Beilun.

"Container load and discharge operations keep normal in the three terminals near the epidemic area of Beilun district," Maersk said on its January 10 advisory, adding that container gate-in and gate out operations have been recovered "completely with no limitations."

It said "empty pick-up and empty return in empty depots have been recovered" and Ningbo Bluedragon LongXing warehouse operations have been open completely along with Ningbo Bluedragon LongFei warehouse operations.

"Of the five container terminals in Ningbo, 3 terminals below are located near the epidemic area of Beilun district in Ningbo while no positive case is reported in the terminals," Maersk said.

The shipping line added that container load and discharge operations "keep normal" and container gate-in and gate out operations have also been recovered completely with no limitations.

"Vessel call and departure keeps normal so far," Maersk continued.

A partial lockdown of Ningbo city in East China's Zhejiang Province was earlier announced as Covid-19 cases have been found in the Beilun area.

The new lockdown measures — part of China's zero-Covid policy — are seen to raise further concerns on impacting the already fragile supply chain, especially as the industry gears for the expected surge of exports for the Chinese New Year in February.
