The first direct container shipping line between Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and western North America has recently been launched with a container ship carrying 4,950 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) berthing at the Chinese gateway.
The said route is expected to further facilitate trade links between southwestern China and North America.
State media CGTN said ships will mainly call at the port of Qinzhou in Guangxi, Hong Kong, and in Vancouver.
With the new route, it will take only around 20 days to traverse from the Beibu Gulf in Guangxi to western North America.
Beibu Gulf Port connects 14 provincial-level regions in China and is an international commercial and logistics hub with 316 ports in 107 nations and territories around the world.
