Pacific International Lines (PIL) is introducing a new weekly direct service connecting the key ports of Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore in a bid to strengthen its Southeast Asia linkages.
PIL, Iris Lines new SEA service
The new service, known as Thailand Philippines Straits Service (TPS), will commence on February 15, 2023, from Manila, Philippines.
In its announcement, PIL said a consortium of vessels would serve TPS with an average capacity of 750 TEUs, jointly deployed by PIL and Philippine-based Iris Lines, Inc.
"The introduction of this new service is part of our ongoing drive to enhance our coverage in Asia. It also marks our dedication to strengthening our linkages with Asia's numerous ports," said Surendran Mathilagath, general manager Intra-Asia Services, PIL.
He added that by adding this new TPS service, PIL is providing a strong connection among the key Southeast Asian countries of the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.
"This would significantly raise our competitiveness in Asia, enabling us to offer competitive solutions and transit times within Southeast Asia, as well as to the rest of our global network," Mathilagath further said, noting that this is in line with PIL's commitment to delivering connectivity and value to our customers worldwide.
The new TPS service will follow the Bangkok – Laem Chabang – Manila – Singapore – Bangkok port rotation.
