Hong Kong Air Cargo has launched a new scheduled freighter service between Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan.
Last year, Hong Kong Air Cargo was granted permission to operate scheduled services to nine destinations including Tokyo.
"Commencing July 9, Hong Kong Air Cargo launched a new weekly scheduled service to Narita, Japan. Previously a chartered service, the new scheduled service is in line with Hong Kong Air Cargo's policy to expand its scheduled services," Hong Kong Air Cargo said.
The airline noted that it will continue to review its resources and the market situation with the aim to convert charter services into scheduled flight services.
"Hong Kong Air Cargo strives to improve its service to best serve the people of Hong Kong, it is important to us to help sustain and maintain Hong Kong's position as a leading cargo aviation hub, especially during the pandemic," said William Chan, director of government and public affairs.
"As the global market gradually recovers from the pandemic, we shall continue to review the market situation to introduce more scheduled destinations to our network," he added.
