Korean Air announced has announced its plans to undertake work to re-modify three Boeing 777s for passenger operations, removing cargo pallets and reinstalling 269 passenger seats, from July.

The airline modified ten 777s for cargo operations — also called "preighters" —  in 2020, in response to increased demand for cargo transport following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The work to remodify the planes back to serve passengers come as worldwide travel starts to pick up as more and more countries scale back pandemic-related restrictions.

Passenger cabin restoration works will take approximately 10 days per aircraft.

Korean Air also said it plans to re-modify one A330 for passenger operations this month.
