Vietnamese carrier, Bamboo Airways, announced plans to launch connections from Vietnam to London and Australia starting February.

In its official social media account, the airline said it plans to launch twice weekly Ho Chi Minh City-Melbourne service from February 19, 2022 with Boeing 787-9 aircraft marking the carrier's first scheduled service to Australia.

Bamboo Airways also plans to launch twice weekly Hanoi-London Heathrow service from March 22, 2022 after the carrier secured slots at London Heathrow Airport in the first quarter of 2021 and operated a one off flight in October last year.

Earlier, the airline also did its first charter of the year between Hanoi to Prague in Czech Republic using a Boeing 787-900 passenger aircraft which carried approximately 15 tonnes of general cargo in the hold.

Tat Thang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bamboo Airways said after becoming the  first Vietnamese carrier to launch a non-stop flight to Prague before the pandemic, he expects the carrier to "rebuild the bridge connecting Vietnam and the Czech Republic through Bamboo Airways’ regular nonstop flights as soon as the conditions allow."
