Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) has announced the suspension of its European flights starting March 4 as a due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine which has resulted in multiple airspace restrictions.

"In view of the current situation in Russia and Ukraine, the following flights will be suspended after tomorrow," the Japanese cargo airline said on March 3. "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to our customers."

NCA explained that the flight suspension is due to restrictions which could impact its flight route between Asia and Europe.

"Because the flight route of our European flights may be restricted," it said.

The suspension at the moment will last until March 9 — affecting eight flights operating between Narita and Amsterdam and Milan.

"We are currently investigating air routes that do not pass through Russian airspace," NCA said in its statement.
