Dimerco said as Covid-19 infections continue to climb in Taiwan, it recently moved Self-Test Kits from Hong Kong.

Dimerco said it used commercial air freight to transport 165 pallets with a total weight of nearly 50 tons from HKG to TPE within just four days, despite the required delivery date directly following the busy Hong Kong Easter holiday.

Dimerco also achieved significant savings for its customer by consolidating the cargo into a single flight rather than the usual two to three-passenger flights after the airline's HQ agreed to prioritize the freight, also avoiding the express freight charges generally expected for peak time Friday.

"Our strong relationship with the airline allowed us to meet our customer's critical time requirements, deliver significant cost savings for them and reduce the transit risk for this temperature-controlled commodity. Similarly, we were able to leverage our long-established partnership with the trucking company to optimize dispatch," the 3PL company said.

Further expediting the freight shipment at the destination, Dimerco noted that it coordinated the customer's assigned customs clearance and trucking vendors onsite at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to complete the import procedure.

Dimerco continued to report the status of the freight to the customer live in real-time, maintaining mutual communication throughout.

While the global pandemic has caused a shortage of truck drivers across the industry, Dimerco nevertheless also managed to pick up all 165 pallets from the shipper at the origin and transport the freight to HKG airport.

"Dimerco's powerful combination of a global network, covering 300+ offices in 67 countries including 160+ company-owned freight forwarding offices and 80+ logistics centres, with strong carrier and partner relationships, and leading-edge IT systems enable us to connect Asia with the world like no other global 3PL," it added.
