Port of Dalian in China's northeast region has welcomed the maiden voyage of MSC's first Northeast China-Southeast Asia direct service.

The new service will follow the Dalian (China) — Tianjin (China) — Qingdao (China) — Busan (South Korea) — Incheon (South Korea)  — Vung Tau (Vietnam) — Laem Chabang (Thailand) — Singapore — Tanjung Pelepas (Singapore) — Jakarta (Indonesia) — Panjang (Indonesia) port rotation.

MSC noted that the service which will utilize six 2,500 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEUs) containerships, will provide a "direct link" between north China to Southeast Asia, with improved transit times and more service offerings.
